William R. Shaw is a native Ithacan who now resides near Trumansburg,
in the southern tip of Seneca County. Bill and his wife, Gail, graduated
from Cornell University. After Law school and a White House internship
at the newly created U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (1969)
and other assignments in Washington, DC. He returned to his local
roots in 1976, as the Assistant to the President at TC3 (1976-81),
then Mayor of Ithaca (1982-1983) and has had a private law practice
for 20 years. He chaired the Tompkins County Environmental Management
Council in 1980-81; and served on numerous Boards in the community.
Bill is an avid outdoorsman, bowhunter, fisherman and sylvaculturist.
He has a Christmas Tree Farm and family home, cottage and woods
(Hogback Gully) just north of Frontenac Point. He was an original
appointment to the Board of Directors and now is also the Treasurer
for the CLWN.
