Watershed Monitoring the Subject of Discussion

Sponsored by the Cayuga Lake Watershed Intermunicipal Organization, Cornell University, and the Cayuga Lake Watershed Network, the second Cayuga Lake Watershed Monitoring conference was held on October 14, at Wells College in Aurora. This well attended event allowed researchers and other monitors to update each other on progress since last year’s monitoring conference. Discussions addressed the identification of data gaps (what don’t we know about the lake) and how monitoring results can best be used to inform the public and instruct watershed management decisions. Look for an analysis of recommendations and ideas generated at the conference to be published in our winter edition.
