Since meetings/telecons are no longer scheduled, this report of
the Program Committee is developed from reports from each committee
member on their activities, and a retreat with the Issues Cte and
Hilary at the Network Office December 17
Judy attended Sunset on Cayuga, with a table of her firends, and
sishes to congratulate the organizers - a fun event. Rebecca also
attended with her niece.
Rebecca and Roxy have organized the traveling road show “Ups
and Downs of Cayuga Lake” with Bill Kappel, a hydrologist
with the U.S. Geological Survey, discussing seasonal variations
of water levels. Following earlleir version s of this talk, twenty-five
people heard it at the Americana Vineyard and Winery Oct 15. They
learned why the level of Cayuga Lake waters fluctuate throughout
the year, as well as what and who controls the changes in lake levels
and why. This program was jointly sponsored by the Cayuga Lake Watershed
Network and the Cayuga Lake Watershed Intermunicipal Organization.
The last talk will occur in April 2010.
Roxy gave one of 3 addresses at the Watershed Network’s Fall
conference on Phosphorus in October. Judy posted this and other
actiities on the www.
On December 17, a retreat with the issues cte, was held to plan
2010 activities. (Roxy, John Mawdsley, Ruth Richardson, Judy, and
Hilary attended). A plan was circulated by John for comment.
