Cayuga Lake Watershed Network
Doc. #2008-
Outreach Committee Telecon
July 24, 2008
Present: Judy Morehouse, Judy Pipher. Rachel Wingsley
and Roxy Johnston by e-mail.
We discussed activities related to Lakefest.
Next telecon August 7 – Rachel suggested
a morning time. I have a standing 11am meeting, so suggest 10am.
(need to find a time that Roxy can also be on the call, so we will
communicate by e-mail and phone in advance to assure).
Rachel – does Network office have raffle
tickets? If not Judy M will buy. And please check on whether any
leftover mustard, mayo, lemonade from prior years.
Judy P - Checked Fayette Fire Department FD re:
chairs and tables $75 includes delivery and pickup
Checked with Julie re: tent and water jugs, its definite. She wants
to know when they can put them up, and when I can get through to
Cindy, I will let her know. I still have no answer on kitties, but
will ask her then. (Cindy promised to get back to me sometime Aug
1).
Will call tent guy from Fayette FD and tell him we only need 1
tent, and that they need to be put up so that both can fit on the
site. Judy P will go over and measure the site.
Secured Jackie Stillwell as Dairy Princess. She will bring ice-cream
treats, and will say a few words about dairy health.
Judy M asked that Debbie be on for face painting
most of the afternoon – the flier and website will be adjusted.
Kari – has activities for all ages, and
can be available whenever needed. Flier and website adjusted..
Hugh Hunter thinks, and will test, that a high power inverter used
with a truck (truck not on) could run sound system.
Bill Shaw secured $75 gift voucher from Shur Sav, T’burg,
Judy P spoke with him – we think 100 lunches are adequate
( a LOT left over last year). He will send to Judy.
Seneca County Chamber of Commerce – ultimately decided not
to support us, and also Bonadent refused.
Judy P e-mailed Ruth to see how door prize/silent
auction procurement is going.
Judy P sent Sharon the planning checklist etc.
and Sharon and interns will take care of responsibilities only they
can do.
Judy M and Judy P both picked up mandolins. Average price of meat
and cheese is $5 - $6/pound.Roxy has one as well.
The Courtrights will bring Kevin a Bullfrog, as well as 3 tables
and chairs. They were concerned about who at the SC Fair had the
Watershed display – presumably Sharon knows.
Judy M talked to Pam Bryan – and since JM
and JP attended Nunsense a few weekends ago, they asked her to avoid
mention of frozen dead nuns etc. Pam suggested the nuns run a short
bingo game (they have bingo cards from the performances in Waterloo)
- prizes there were rosary cards but we could give instead extra
door prize raffle tickets, for example. Judy P will follow up.
Sinicropi Florist in Seneca Falls will supply the balloons –
pickup after 8am Saturday 23rd.
Judy M will call Keith Tidball re display and
has tried to contact FL Times.
Judy P has not from either Ithaca Biodeiesel and
Acorn (sent e-mail to them)
Roxy (Wild Hare Farms) agreed to supply lettuce,
tomatoes, onion and a salad. We will buy raspberry vinagrette.
Roxy obtained $50 voucher from Wegman’s
Ithaca and $30 from Greenstar. Is still trying the Creamery.
Rachel had a singing group contact us. From their
website it looks like they are hiring themselves out - we cannot
afford to pay (did you ask them Rachel if they were charging?) In
any event, we already have music, and I think we will politely say
no thanks, ask for their particulars in case we need them for next
year.
Courtrights offered a 10 x 10 tent – that would be welcome
– could use for greeting table, for example.
