Present: Julie Patterson, Roxy Johnston, Judy Morehouse, Judy Pipher

Agenda: Lakefest Planning. Minutes from last meetings on Lakefest are posted on the www.

We reviewed the status document Judy P sent around.
Completed Tasks:

  • Judy P sent e-mail to Cindy Patterson to inquire about potable water; Goulds Pumps has agreed to support Lakefest 2008; Goulds, Seneca County Soil and Water Conservation, and CSI all agreed to provide displays at Lakefest; Urban Sun Grocery in Seneca Falls declined contribution of support (they are struggling to get established); updated our protected site with revised display lists and solicitation letter; outlined needs for tables, chairs, tents.
  • Judy M inquired whether there was a use charge at Goose Watch (no); described Pam Bryan and Seneca Community Players Children’s Group as willing to put on presentation at Lakefest; obtained promise of tables and chairs from Canoga Fire House (with donation, which Judy M and P will provide).
  • Roxy contacted Seneca County soil and water re: display; contacted area farmers groups re: produce donation, and a few businesses re: picnic supplies, or food; she will donate produce to Lakefest.
  • Julie attended a meeting where local goods were featured, but it wasn’t appropriate for our purposes; secured family tent 20’x40’, will provide donation; will donate needed food items from Patterson farms; confirmed Ruth Richardson will bring microscopes and things to look at
  • Kari Richards has volunteered to coordinate children’s activities: Kari should e-mail group on her ideas. Roxy has been working with her.

To do list:

Judy P:
  • prepare lists of things Board members need to help with and give to Julie before next Board meeting (May 24th)
  • send e-mails to display folks asking if they can provide folding chairs, tables
  • publicity should state “bring your own lawn chair”
  • follow up READ dog
  • contact Sauder’s re: donation

Judy M:

  • contact Canoga Fire Dept and tell them we need 30 chairs, and tables (at most 15, less pending displayer’s willingness to provide)
  • contact Pam Bryan – no to Nuns, 30 min max. for performance of Children’s group, preferred time – is 1:30 ok? Later?
  • Follow up Wegmans (Geneva) and P&C, and will approach Wegmans Auburn


Roxy:

  • Will ask Ithaca Bakery about donating bread;
  • Will check with farmers groups concerning request
  • Will check with Ithaca Biodiesel whether calendar free to display at Lakefest
  • Will ask Ithaca markets to donate
  • Will ask Keith Tidwell to approach Romulus butcher

Julie:

  • will check with Kevin re: critters and ask about table
  • will check with Tops in Auburn and also local market
  • will ask aunt who caters about the amount of meat and cheese to plan for
  • will donate needed food items from Patterson Farms
  • will transport 5 Network tables from farm to Lakefest
  • will bring mandolin thing to cut tomatoes onions etc.

Next telecon Friday May 23 at 2pm. Judy M will call Roxy to remind.
