Agenda: Lakefest Planning. Minutes from last meetings
on Lakefest are posted on the www.

§ Sent note out to Ithaca Farmer's Market manager about protocol
for using their listerv to solicit donations: request for donations
has been sent via market manager to vendors. A similar note was
sent to the Finger Lakes Organics cooperative.
§ Sent e-mail out to coordinator for Seneca Falls Farmer's
Market coordinator - she will forward request to vendors. She also
happens to work for Seneca Falls Cooperative Extension and would
like to table at the event (JP placed on www list)§ Ithaca
Biodiesel is on board for display - pending checking their calendar
for conflicts. (JP did not make them yellow on list yet pending
reply)
§ Sent note out to B&W Supply requesting donations of
biodegradable table service: awaiting response.
§ Ditto for Cayuga Lake Creamery - also asked about dry ice.
§ RJ will contact Tompkins County CCE maybe in a week or so
regarding their ‘buy local’ program to get a list of
farmers to contact for donations, after the Seneca Market vendors
have a chance to respond.§ RJ will staff the WRC display.
§ Realized that the Seneca County SWCD should be invited –
(JP sent letter to Phil Griswold, Director. RJ will call her friends
there.)

§ Reserved sound system at Hickeys (Julie asked about sound
– JP said that if Mac plays he has electric bass, and Sharon
likes sound to announce. We can always cancel request)
§ Tried again to phone and e-mail Tom Knight. No response.
§ Tried again to contact Canoga Fire dept re: tables and chairs
– no response. Judy M knows people there and will contact
§ Asked about Goose Watch charge mention in letter –
consensus was that better to do orally. JP will send letter with
questions to Cindy.
§ Suggested Wendi could lead kids in singing if desired.
§ Sent paper copy of PR and request to those newspapers which
returned e-mails
§ She and Judy M had productive visit with Cindy Peterson,
and looked over sight for Lakefest. Ample parking. Close to washrooms.
§ She sent e-mail to Steve Isaacs who runs The Cornell Ag
and Food Technology Park at the Seneca Depot – and asked about
Seneca Bioenergy (soy-based diesel) and Top Quality Hay Producers
(hay drying) 2 companies which recently received a check from the
State to get these businesses going. The Bioenergy CEO is Mike Coia

§ Sent e-mail to Hangar Theatre (NextGen) to see if they could
perform at Lakefest. They declined. Also thought of Children’s
Community Theatre (Pam Bryan) – they did something for Lakefest

§ Contacted Kevin Zippel to provide frogs and other critters
for Lakefest – he no longer has critters, but can catch some
for the occasion if we want
§ Contacted Ruth who is willing to get door prizes in Ithaca.
RJ said that the artisans etc. and farmers may also provide door
prizes. Therefore maybe not proceed too quickly.
§ Ruth will bring microscope and things to look at.
§ Family tent status so far unknown; Julie will ask.

§ Unable to contact Carmina Russo or other person to have
balloons for kids. Advised waiting to see how other activities pan
out.
§ Aldi’s responded to her letter – negative.
§ Joined Judy P on visit to Goose Watch and is following up
on many things mentioned above.
§ Will contact Cindy P re: use charge for Goosewatch
§ Will contact Canoga FD re: Use of 30 chairs and tables (#
to be determined later); Will also contact Fayette FD (Red Jacket
FD will not loan out their tables nor chairs)
.§ Will contact Pam Bryan about using her children's theatre
group for a presentation – ask if interactive or not.

§ Has been contacted about organizing kids activities. Should
coordinate with her so that we don’t overdo – at the
moment situation fluid with lots of ideas but no commitments.
Next telecon:Friday April 25 at 2pm. Judy M will
call RJ to remind. Status reports.
