Present: Julie Patterson, Roxy Johnston (by e-mail), Judy Pipher

Agenda: Lakefest Planning Minutes from our last several meetings in March have been posted on the www. The latter contains each person’s “to do” list (at least that for the 3 core members; one of the jobs is to expand to gain input from Judy M and Kari R).

Julie reported on this week’s board meeting. While poorly attended, those in attendance liked our Lakefest plans. Sharon asked us not to approach Wells, but we can approach Goulds for funding. We will need to get a contact name from her. We discussed entertainment: the Hunters will perform for free; Roxy is asking Compost Theatre who perform for free, and Judy thought that in the spirit of nothing ventured nothing gained, she would ask Tom Knight if he would volunteer as well.

Judy circulated a press notice, a list of those who provided door-prizes last year, and a draft flier. The press notice was corrected by all and sent to Sharon for approval, before Judy sends it out. Diane previously sent the list of papers etc. to whom it goes.

Julie approved the flier that Judy circulated, as did Roxy.

Judy contacted via e-mail all the organizations on our display list as updated last year. She has heard positively from some, negatively from others. She will continue to update this.

Judy made a start at the website announcement. It is at http://cayugalake.org/news/Lakefestannouncement08.php for comment and is currently not linked to the homepage.

Judy called Jo Merrill (nee Murray) and discussed Lakefest 1. She also spoke with Mary Catt about this (Mary and Jo worked together). Jo gave us phone numbers of the Fayette Fire Dept. contact re: tent borrowing, and someone else re: chairs and tables. Neither contact has been responsive to date.

Mary felt we were on shaky grounds to borrow the tents because the department might rent them late in the game even though promised to us. Julie volunteered a 20’ x 40’ tent and Judy will look into the cost to rent. Mary suggested that Cindy may give us a building to use – one of us will have to visit Goose Watch to refresh ourselves on the setup.

Next telecon:
Friday March 28 at 2pm. following Board meeting that week. All should have gone through much of their “to do” list by then.
