Present: Julie Patterson, Roxy Johnston, Judy Pipher

Agenda: Lakefest Planning

Purpose of Lakefest: A celebration for members, and an opportunity to attract new members from the community. An opportunity to educate the citizenry.

General comments. We need (and all committees need) a point person for communication with the Board. We are planning for 150 attendees, and think potato chips and fruit may not be necessary although local fruit may be available. Probably will go with lemonade again – and Julie will bring the big drink dispensers with ice water.
Entertainment: Hunter family for music, Compost Theatre (if willing), Ruth Richardson – microscope and various targets; wine-tasting?,
Promotion of Local Products: Have an ag table with flyers for all those who have donated, as well as member farms
Assignments:
Judy P
· will contract Jo Murray re: the tent, and tables and chairs
· ask Judy M for help with door prizes and publicity
· will begin contacting organizations re: displays (Roxy will contact Ithaca Biodiesel)
· will update web and will put checklist on our secret website
· will be contact person for others working on this to avoid duplications (also put on secret website)
· find PR contact info to get first ad out. At that time we can solicit donations and participation (produce, artisans, more??) by noting that economic vitality of the watershed one part of our mission statement, and we wish to showcase local products
· also send out listserv request of member farmers
· will try local groceries for donations and price cold meats at Mennonites
· ask Kari if she could come up with kids activities – something about a ball
· will ask Cindy
- can we sell things (e.g tee shirts)
- winetasting in tent?

Julie
· start contacting people re: door prizes; ask Ruth Richardson for help in Ithaca
· contact Sharon re:
-contacting Niamh for Wells donation – John Mawdsley thought timing may be inopportune
- should one of us do a count of supplies on hand
- spring newsletter – need to write appeal to local farmers and artisans to participate
· will remind Board of their Lakefest obligations, including attendance, desserts, signups
· will take trash and compost it
· will contact coop extension market re: contributions
· contact someone about windpower
· Contact local producers of cheese & Meadowsweet bread

Roxy
· will contact Compost Theatre to ask if they would perform (between 1 and 3 pm)
· will contact B&W restaurant re: cornstarch knives, plates etc.
· contact cooperative extension concerning local artisans, products?
· Will contact local produce folks through finger lakes cooperative, and also organic produce farmers, Ithaca Farmer’s Market Network
· Contact Cayuga Lake Creamery re: icecream locally made (do they supply dry ice?)
· Contact Ithaca biodiesel about display
