Whereas, Fall Creek in Cayuga, Cortland, and Tompkins counties
is the largest single watershed contributory to Cayuga Lake, and
Whereas, a concerned group of citizens has begun creation of a
Fall Creek Watershed Committee which shares the goals of the Cayuga
Lake Watershed Network including the goal of promoting the understanding
of how to maintain and improve the ecological health, economic vitality,
and overall beauty of the watershed, and
Whereas, it is in the interest of the CLWN to promote the successful
establishment and operations of the Fall Creek Watershed Committee
Therefore, it is Resolved that:
The Cayuga Lake Watershed Network welcomes the formation of the
Fall Creek Watershed Committee and looks forward to cooperating
with it on all issues of mutual interest.
It is further Resolved that:
The Chair is directed to appoint a Subcommittee on Fall Creek whose
responsibilities are to periodically advise CLWN as to how it can
assist the Fall Creek Watershed Committee and to advance cooperation
with the FCWC.
The CLWN membership and volunteer list shall be made available
to the Subcommittee on Fall Creek for the purposes of assisting
the Fall Creek Watershed Committee in contacting interested citizens
and for purposes of mailing announcements of meetings and other
events to residents of the Fall Creek watershed.
The CLWN webpage shall be made available to the Subcommittee on
Fall Creek for the purposes of announcing meetings of the FCWC,
collecting and distributing information about Fall Creek, and other
purposes consistent with the policies of use established by this
Board.
The chair may authorize use of the CLWN mail permit for distribution
of material relevant to the establishment and operations of the
FCWC and for other related purposes.
